Heather McGaughey Youth Theatre

The Heather McGaughey Children’s Theatre and Teen Voices, collectively know as Heather McGaughey Youth Theatre, was created in memory of Heather McGaughey, a professional actress and entertainer who tragically lost her life in Farmington in July of 2005. Heather strove both to pursue excellence in her art and to elevate those around her to their best.

The mission of the Heather McGaughey Children’s Theatre is to build the love of theater and promote self-confidence and teamwork skills in Farmington’s youth. The goal is to provide Farmington youth with basic theatre training and the opportunity to perform with Sandstone Productions. Students will focus on five key areas: The Actor's Process, Musical Theatre and Character Development, Theatrical Movement, Devised Theatre and Scenic Design.

ELF is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. Buddy is raised unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth.

Based on the beloved holiday film, this hilarious fish-out-of-water comedy follows Buddy the Elf in his quest to find his true identity.

The Farmington Civic Center is a collection location for new, unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots program.

You can bring unwrapped toys to the Civic Center business office at any time during business hours and on the night of the show to exchange for a ticket to the December 20 show (1 toy = 1 ticket).
